THE Trip - Day 17 (Nice & Easy)

An easy day….we left the map reading and driving to the tour guide as we cruised around Seattle.   It is ironic that we are more than happy to hop on a tour bus when in a foreign country, but rarely do the same thing here in any city in the US.  This time in order to get an overall feel for Seattle, we opted for a 3-hour city tour.  A good decision.   This allowed us to see the overall views of the city, hear the history of what we were seeing, and actually relax.

Our tour guide, Kyle, was knowledgeable and entertaining with lots of personal stories to share with us based on his experiences as a 4th generation Seattle native.  There were 16 others in our tour group ranging from locations such as, Minneapolis, MN; Kansas City, MO; Sidney, Australia; the Bahamas; and fellow Californians.

As we passed by the locations so well known in movies such as, ‘Sleepless in Seattle’ or TV shows like ‘Frasier’ and ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, one thing was clearly obvious --- our guide loved his city.   And, there are many things to like about Seattle on a clear, sunny day.  We plan to explore more of the sights in detail over the next few days.  But, we, too, already feel a kinship with the area…this will make our visit here even more fun.

  1. Seattle is a city we want to explore someday...only flew in and out on business in our past lives. You two look great...travel seems to agree with you. :-)
